About

Stop and Hear the Music features improvasational music from all over the world. This blog features jazz and world music, but also has some other genres of music on it. For me, the most important thing about music is the quality.

Jazz surrounded me in my early life. My father is a jazz pianist. When I was young, I often accompanied him to gigs. Jazz was my first connection to music. I associate it with most of my happiest childhood memories.

As I grew up, I started listening to all different kinds of music. I was influenced by what my friends listened to and was especially drawn to world music. I loved the unique vocals of African singers and African and Latin rhythms.

When I decided to start this blog I wanted to make a site that was dedicated to the music I love. I especially want to support indie world music and jazz artists.

On this blog you’ll find CD reviews, jazz artist biographies, featured videos and essays about how music has shaped my memories. Take a look around. Watch some good videos. Enjoy the site.
